Integrative Physical and Occupational Therapy at Twin Sun Healthcare is a whole-system approach to movement restoration and functional rehabilitation.
Each session combines orthopedic precision with neurophysiological and psychosocial awareness to address the Four Aspects of Healing that influence recovery:
1. Mechanical Restrictions – muscles, fascia, or joints limiting movement.
2. Neuromuscular Activation – impaired communication between the brain and targeted muscle groups.
3. Movement Planning & Coordination – dysfunctional motor patterns that affect posture, balance, and performance.
4. Cognitive & Emotional Factors – the mental and stress-related elements that perpetuate pain and delay healing.

By addressing all four dimensions, we not only restore movement but also retrain the nervous system to support long-term stability, adaptability, and ease.

Benefits
• Reduces acute and chronic pain through targeted manual and neuromuscular techniques
• Improves flexibility, posture, and overall movement efficiency
• Restores balance between mobility and strength
• Regulates the nervous system to promote faster recovery
• Enhances coordination, focus, and confidence in daily movement
• Provides practical tools for injury prevention and long-term wellbeing

What Makes This Approach Different

Most physical therapy models focus solely on isolated tissue repair.
The Twin Sun method integrates mechanical, neurological, behavioral, and emotional dimensions into a single clinical framework.
This ensures that interventions address both the symptom and the system—why dysfunction occurred, not just where it appeared.

Our clinicians blend manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, Frequency-Specific Microcurrent (FSM) Therapy, and Dry Needling with breathing and cognitive retraining techniques to enhance nervous-system regulation.
The result is care that is restorative, individualized, and sustainable.

Specialized Areas of Focus
• Orthopedic & Sports Rehabilitation: Treatment of low back, neck, shoulder, hip, and knee injuries; repetitive strain and postural imbalance.
• Pelvic Floor Therapy: Addressing urinary, bowel, and sexual health for men and women with pain or functional limitations.
• Chronic Pain Management: Identifying mechanical and neurological contributors to long-standing discomfort.
• Performance Optimization: Movement efficiency training for athletes and active individuals.
• Telehealth Support: Secure remote sessions for guided self-mobilization, exercise, and movement analysis.

What to Expect

Your initial visit includes a comprehensive movement and postural assessment to identify which of the Four Aspects are contributing to dysfunction.
Treatment typically combines:
• Manual therapy and joint mobilization to resolve restrictions
• Neuromuscular re-education to restore proper muscle sequencing
• Corrective exercise to integrate new movement patterns
• FSM or Dry Needling to reduce pain and inflammation
• Breath and awareness training to support nervous-system balance and prevent recurrence

Each plan is customized to your physical goals, occupational demands, and stage of healing.

What It Is

Integrative Massage Therapy at Twin Sun Healthcare is a therapeutic, assessment-based approach to reducing muscular tension, improving circulation, and restoring functional mobility.
Our licensed therapists apply orthopedic, myofascial, and neuromuscular techniques to address both the structural and nervous-system components of pain and restriction.

Each session begins with an evaluation to identify the primary contributors to dysfunction—such as muscle shortening, fascial tightness, or movement imbalance.
Treatment may include deep-tissue therapy, trigger point release, assisted stretching, cupping, or myofascial work, selected specifically for your condition and goals.
The intent is not simply relaxation but restoration of the body’s capacity for efficient movement and balanced tone.

Benefits
• Reduces muscle tension, stiffness, and referred pain
• Improves circulation and tissue elasticity
• Restores joint mobility and functional range of motion
• Enhances recovery from repetitive stress or postural strain
• Regulates nervous-system activity to support stress resilience
• Promotes integration between physical, emotional, and cognitive balance

What Makes This Approach Different

Our method places massage within a clinical and interdisciplinary framework rather than as a stand-alone service.
Therapists coordinate with the broader Twin Sun team to align physical treatment with psychological and energetic support.
Massage may be paired with Holistic Counseling & Transformational Coaching to address how emotional patterns and stress responses influence muscle tone, posture, and breath.

This approach helps the nervous system unlearn protective holding patterns that develop from chronic tension or emotional strain—offering the body new possibilities for movement and ease.

What to Expect

Each session begins with a brief intake and targeted assessment.
Your therapist will identify primary regions of restriction or imbalance and apply tailored methods such as:
• Myofascial and deep-tissue therapy to improve tissue glide and elasticity
• Trigger point and neuromuscular techniques for precise release
• Cupping or stretching for fascial decompression and improved mobility
• Gentle rhythmic work to downregulate the stress response and integrate results

Pressure and technique are adapted to your comfort level, always prioritizing safety, communication, and therapeutic effectiveness.
The environment supports calm concentration—encouraging physiological reset, not indulgence.

FAQ

Is this considered medical or relaxation massage?
This is a therapeutic and medically aligned service, designed to address structural and neurological factors that contribute to pain and dysfunction. Relaxation is often a natural result, but the primary intent is clinical restoration.

Can this help with chronic or stress-related pain?
Yes. Integrative Massage is highly effective for chronic back, neck, and shoulder tension, as well as for pain influenced by emotional stress or nervous-system dysregulation.

How does this differ from spa-based massage?
Sessions are assessment-driven and goal-oriented. Techniques are chosen based on functional need and tissue presentation, not predetermined routines.

Can it be combined with other Twin Sun services?
Absolutely. Integrative Massage Therapy pairs especially well with Holistic Counseling & Transformational Coaching, where body awareness and emotional insight are developed together for deeper mind–body integration.

How often should sessions be scheduled?
Frequency depends on your condition and goals. Acute or postural issues may benefit from weekly sessions, while maintenance care can be scheduled monthly or seasonally.

What It Is

Frequency-Specific Microcurrent (FSM) Therapy is an advanced therapeutic technology that delivers low-level electrical currents, measured in microamperes (millionths of an amp), to stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
Unlike traditional electrical stimulation, FSM uses paired frequencies precisely tuned to the tissues and conditions being treated — allowing cellular repair, inflammation reduction, and pain modulation at the biological level.

FSM has been clinically used for orthopedic injuries, nerve pain, trauma recovery, and chronic inflammatory conditions, as well as for emotional and stress-related pain syndromes.
Twin Sun Healthcare integrates FSM into a multi-disciplinary model, blending physical therapy, chiropractic, and nervous-system regulation techniques to support faster recovery and deeper healing.

How It Works

Each protocol combines two frequency channels:
• One targets the type of tissue (e.g., nerve, fascia, bone, or spinal cord),
• The other targets the condition (e.g., inflammation, trauma, fibrosis, emotional distress).

The device delivers microcurrents that mimic the body’s natural electrical signals, helping to:
• Increase ATP (cellular energy) by up to 500%
• Enhance protein synthesis and tissue repair
• Reduce inflammatory mediators
• Normalize nerve conduction and muscle tone
• Support autonomic balance for stress regulation

At Twin Sun Healthcare, FSM is used both as a stand-alone modality and as a complementary treatment integrated into physical therapy, chiropractic alignment, massage, and emotional regulation sessions.

Key Protocol Categories & Applications

🦴 Musculoskeletal Repair
• Bursa & Tendon Pain, Cartilage Damage, Joint & Ligament Strain

• Improved joint mobility and muscle function
• Enhanced energy, focus, and stress resilience
• Support for autonomic regulation and trauma recovery

What to Expect

FSM sessions are comfortable and non-invasive.
Small electrode pads are applied to the skin, often in front-to-back or cross-body configurations depending on the condition.
Clients may feel a mild warmth or subtle tingling, but most report deep relaxation or even sleep during the session.
Protocols typically last 30–60 minutes and may be combined with manual therapy, micro-movement exercises, or nervous-system rebalancing techniques.

Consistency is key — benefits accumulate over repeated sessions, especially for chronic or long-standing conditions.

FAQ

Is FSM safe?
Yes. FSM uses currents in the microamp range — well below the level that stimulates muscles or nerves — and is FDA-cleared as a Class II medical device.

How is this different from TENS or electrical stimulation?
FSM works at the cellular metabolic level, not through muscle contraction. Its specific paired frequencies are tailored to the tissue and pathology rather than general pain relief.

How soon can I expect results?
Acute injuries often respond within one or two sessions, while chronic pain, scar tissue, or systemic inflammation may require a progressive treatment plan.

Can FSM be combined with other therapies?
Absolutely. It complements physical therapy, chiropractic, massage, and emotional healing modalities by optimizing cellular readiness and recovery.

Is FSM supported by research?
Yes — multiple peer-reviewed studies demonstrate FSM’s efficacy in reducing inflammation, repairing tissue, and modulating pain through ATP upregulation and cytokine normalization.

Integration at Twin Sun Healthcare

FSM is used in specialized clinical programs, such as:
• Trauma Recovery & Pain Reset Series
• Neuro-Regulation & Brain Health Protocols (Concussion, Vagus Nerve, Brain Fog)
• Structural Repair & Fascia Reboot
• Emotional Integration & Nervous-System Calm
• Skin Vitality & Facial Rejuvenation

Each program is tailored using advanced Twin Sun practitioner protocols based on 189 calibrated treatment sequences, ensuring precision for each client’s presentation.

What It Is

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy is a collaborative and evidence-based approach to emotional healing, trauma integration, and self-leadership.
It is founded on the understanding that the human mind is composed of many “parts” — each carrying unique roles, emotions, and intentions — and that healing occurs when these parts are met with compassion and guided by the core Self, our innate source of clarity and calm.

At Twin Sun Healthcare, IFS sessions provide a safe and structured environment for clients to explore the inner relationships between protective and wounded parts, release emotional burdens, and restore internal harmony.
Rather than pathologizing symptoms, IFS helps clients understand how patterns of anxiety, depression, reactivity, or disconnection formed as intelligent adaptations — and how they can now be transformed through awareness, acceptance, and choice.

Benefits
• Reduces anxiety, depression, and inner conflict
• Resolves trauma and emotional wounds at their root cause
• Enhances self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience
• Restores a sense of wholeness and internal harmony
• Improves relationships through compassionate understanding of self and others
• Supports integration after profound life experiences or psychedelic work

What Makes This Approach Different

Unlike directive therapies that aim to change behavior or thought content, IFS works by listening to the deeper intelligence of the system itself.
It bridges psychology and mindfulness, allowing clients to access healing states organically — without coercion or forced reinterpretation.

IFS aligns beautifully with Twin Sun’s holistic philosophy because it recognizes that emotional pain is not a flaw, but a signal of parts that need attention and care.
As these parts unburden and reconnect with Self, the nervous system recalibrates, and a more coherent sense of identity and purpose emerges.

IFS therapy can stand alone or be combined with somatic work, breathwork, astrology, or psychedelic integration for clients engaged in broader transformational processes.

What to Expect

Sessions are collaborative and client-led.
Your therapist will guide you through a mindful process of exploring inner parts in a calm, compassionate way.
This may include:
• Identifying and understanding protective and reactive parts
• Developing relationships with exiled, hurt, or suppressed parts
• Gently unburdening emotional pain or trauma held in the system
• Reconnecting with Self — the steady, centered awareness that naturally leads with compassion, curiosity, and confidence

Sessions are typically conversational, meditative, and deeply introspective.
They do not require revisiting traumatic memories directly; instead, the focus is on how the system organizes around pain and how it can safely reorganize toward harmony.

FAQ

Is IFS a form of talk therapy?
IFS uses conversation, but it’s more experiential than traditional talk therapy. The process invites awareness inward, helping you observe and communicate with your inner parts directly.

Do I need previous therapy experience to do IFS?
No. IFS is accessible and effective for both new and experienced clients. It meets you exactly where you are in your healing process.

Can IFS help with trauma or anxiety disorders?
Yes. IFS is widely recognized for its success in treating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation by addressing the underlying protective mechanisms rather than symptoms alone.

Is IFS compatible with other healing modalities?
Absolutely. It integrates beautifully with Holistic Counseling, Bodywork, Breathwork, and Psychedelic Integration, helping unify emotional and somatic healing.

How many sessions are recommended?
The pace is individualized. Some clients experience meaningful change after a few sessions, while others engage in longer-term exploration as part of their personal growth journey.

What It Is

Holistic Counseling & Transformational Coaching at Twin Sun Healthcare blends psychological insight, energetic awareness, and practical guidance to help clients align inner patterns with outer action.
This work integrates principles from Psychology, IFS Therapy, Human Design, Uranian Astrology, Modern Day Shamanism and the InnerSpeak system with coaching psychology, mindfulness, and somatic awareness.

Each session focuses on identifying repeating themes, unconscious beliefs, or developmental crossroads and translating that awareness into clear, embodied change.
Whether you are navigating relationship dynamics, career transition, creative purpose, or integration after deep spiritual work, this process helps you access the self-knowledge required to move forward with clarity and confidence.

Benefits
• Clarifies life direction, purpose, and decision-making
• Identifies and transforms limiting subconscious patterns
• Enhances emotional intelligence and resilience
• Improves communication and relational understanding
• Integrates body, mind, and intuition in goal setting and follow-through
• Supports preparation or integration of major personal or spiritual experiences

What Makes This Approach Different

Unlike traditional coaching, which focuses primarily on performance or productivity, Twin Sun’s model bridges psychological depth with energetic literacy.
Sessions draw upon multiple frameworks:
• Human Design reveals how energy and decision-making operate uniquely in each individual.
• Astrology provides symbolic timing and context for personal evolution.
• InnerSpeak clears limiting beliefs and ancestral or subconscious patterns that hold behavior in place.
• Breathwork and guided visualization support nervous-system regulation and embodied integration.

The combination creates a comprehensive developmental map—honoring logic, intuition, and physiology in equal measure.

What to Expect

A typical session begins with dialogue about current challenges or goals.
Your practitioner may then weave in interpretive tools or exercises such as:
• Exploration of chart or design patterns that reflect recurring life themes
• Identifying and clearing internalized narratives or energy blocks
• Guided reflection, breathwork, or imagery to anchor insight somatically
• Establishing practical steps or rituals that align with timing and readiness

The process is both analytical and experiential—linking inner clarity with real-world change. Sessions can stand alone or build progressively toward long-term transformation.

FAQ

Is this therapy or coaching?
It’s a hybrid model. While not psychotherapy, it draws on counseling principles and self-reflection tools to foster genuine psychological and behavioral change.

Do I need prior experience with astrology or Human Design?
No. These systems are used as frameworks for insight, not as belief systems. Explanations are clear, practical, and directly connected to your lived experience.

Can this help with stress or emotional overwhelm?
Yes. Many clients find that understanding energetic and cognitive patterns brings significant relief from confusion, indecision, and self-criticism.

How does this differ from life coaching?
Transformational Coaching at Twin Sun integrates psychological depth, spiritual context, and somatic awareness, rather than focusing solely on external achievement.

Can this work alongside therapy or bodywork?
Absolutely. It complements IFS Therapy, Massage Therapy, and Psychedelic Integration, ensuring alignment between mind, body, and spirit.

Trigger Point Dry Needling at Twin Sun Healthcare is a targeted, evidence-based technique used to release muscular tension, deactivate myofascial trigger points, and normalize neuromuscular communication.
It involves the precise insertion of fine, sterile filaments into specific muscle fibers and fascia that contribute to pain, restricted movement, and dysfunction.

Unlike acupuncture, which follows meridian systems, Trigger Point Dry Needling is rooted in modern anatomy and neuroscience.
By addressing the localized “knots” that form in muscles after overuse, injury, or postural stress, the therapy restores blood flow, reduces pain, and reestablishes healthy movement patterns.

Benefits
• Rapid pain relief in the neck, shoulders, back, and hips
• Reduction of chronic muscular tension and spasm
• Improved flexibility and joint range of motion
• Deactivation of trigger points that refer pain to distant regions
• Enhanced muscle function and coordination
• Calming of the central nervous system and stress response

What Makes This Approach Different

At Twin Sun Healthcare, Trigger Point Dry Needling is performed by licensed clinicians trained in anatomy, neurophysiology, and integrative manual therapy.
We combine precise needling with manual release, Frequency-Specific Microcurrent, and movement retraining to ensure that the released muscle integrates into a new, functional pattern.

Each session begins with a movement and postural assessment to identify overactive or inhibited muscle chains.
After needling, gentle activation and guided breathing help re-pattern the nervous system for lasting relief.

This integrated approach transforms Dry Needling from a symptom-based intervention into a corrective and restorative process.

What to Expect

Thin, sterile needles are inserted into specific muscles associated with your pain or movement limitation.
You may feel a brief twitch or ache as the muscle releases, followed by a deep sense of relaxation and ease.
Soreness similar to post-exercise fatigue can occur for 24–48 hours, typically followed by improved mobility and comfort.

Sessions last approximately 30–45 minutes and may be combined with manual therapy, FSM, or corrective exercise to accelerate recovery and prevent recurrence.

FAQ

Is this the same as acupuncture?
No. Trigger Point Dry Needling uses anatomical landmarks and neuromuscular principles, not traditional meridian systems.

Does it hurt?
Most clients feel only a brief twitch response, followed by a feeling of lightness and relief.

How many sessions will I need?
Many clients notice improvement after one or two sessions; chronic conditions may require a series for full resolution.

Can I combine this with other Twin Sun services?
Yes. Dry Needling pairs particularly well with Physical Therapy, FSM Therapy, and Massage to reinforce balance and long-term results.

Is it safe?
Yes. It is performed by licensed healthcare professionals using sterile, single-use needles and strict safety protocols.

Growing up, I was always the one that my friends opened up to about their problems with family, social struggles, or general stress. Eventually, I realized the way I was connecting with them was something that I enjoyed, and was possibly a gift. As I began to ponder a career, I knew I wanted to do something that helped people. I thought about being a teacher, or a nurse, but eventually decided on psychology and becoming a therapist. I knew that it would take more than me just being a patient listener, offering a safe space and good advice.

As I began my advanced degrees, I gained the knowledge and skill I would need to be able to work with the various populations throughout my career such as children, families, young adults, LGTBQIA+ folks, couples, groups and individuals. Throughout the last 27 years, I’ve honed my skills in psychodynamic work, with focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and becoming a Level 1 Internal Family Systems practitioner. I was fortunate to join a group practice where I practiced for 15 years. Even though I became a supervisor, trainer, program coordinator, and eventually Clinical Director, my main love has always been the face-to-face clinical work with clients. So in 2018, I set out to create Summit Psychotherapy, where I could focus on creating a healing space to do just that.

I’m grateful for the experience of working with clients both short-term and long-term as they strive towards their growth and reaching potentials. I welcome you to join the journey with me if you are looking to get started.
